At the Curaçao Ostrich Farm you can find more animals than just ostriches.
Potbelly pigs, sheep, emu, crocodile and guinea fowl live there too. Not by accident or just for the fun of having a farm. All animals are part of a carefully engineered eco system. The Curaçao Ostrich Farm works on the basis of recycling. The ostriches are the main activity on the farm. The rest of the animals are the supporting act.

The sheep are from Barbados. They make sure that the land is kept neat and clean. They eat away all weeds. The sheep are the mowers of the Curaçao Aloe Vera Plantation.

The Potbelly Pigs are the waste disposals of Restaurant Zambezi. All leftovers and all edible kitchen waste is collected and given to these big eaters every morning.

The guinea fowls are on the menu and that is why they are on The Curaçao Ostrich Farm. They get to run around freely which keeps them in good condition and has the side effect that the cook stays in great shape too because in order to prepare one of these birds he needs to catch one first.

And then there are the crocodile. They live on the left-overs from the slaughterhouse of the Ostrich Farm and are provided with whatever does not make it to the restaurant or the stores.
And there you have it: the eco system of The Curaçao Ostrich Farm.
